Hello on this brisk Columbus Day. Yesterday I was sick all day, but it might have been because of stress. With the holidays coming up soon, we are all thinking about all the cooking and shopping that needs to be done without wearing ourselves out. My Christmas shopping strategy started years ago when I was buying someone a birthday gift I would buy an extra gift and put it back for Christmas. Also too, when end of year sales take place make sure to stock up on year round gifts.

Hello, fellow food lovers. Today I need to ask you, my readers to help keep me accountable. I really want to post everyday, Monday through Friday. Every day might be a different topic. For instance, Mondays I might post tips and ideas on how to save on groceries. Another day I might critique Food Memoirs and create recipes containing Leafy Greens on another day. I appreciate everyone's support and feedback on how I can improve. Thanks for being patient with me because this is my first time trying to create a Food blog. I have tried blogging in the past but I kept losing steam because I didn't have a clear direction for the blog. Even though I have been cooking since I have been an adult, I am teaching myself new cooking methods. Thanks again
Hello, and welcome back. I apologize if I haven't blogged in a while but I'm still working on how to make this blog work. Even though this blog is going to mostly be about my love of Leafy Greens, occasionally I'll share my other cooking adventures. I've decided to start cooking again for my loved ones because it's a good therapy for me as well as strengthening emotional bonds with the people that I love and even care about.
October is one of my favorite months, if not my favorite month because of the mellow and balmy weather. While others are already wearing long pants and long sleeves I don't really get cold until about January. It's probably because I walk just about everywhere and I have built up nice muscles from all of my walking adventures and the increased walking muscles helps keep me warm when the weather starts cooling down.
I sorry, but I have a tendency to digress. Several of my friends and neighbors have birthdays this month so I'm planning on doing a lot of cooking for them. I miss cooking for others because I mainly live by myself so I decided to start cooking again for the people that I am crazy about. Cooking really is good for the soul because it feels good to not only share meals with loved ones but also cooking is a nonsexual way to create intimacy. The best meals are when you know when someone took the time to pour their heart and soul into each step instead of throwing together a meal that tastes rushed and unappetizing. We all love to feel nurtured and few things feel as nurturing as a home-cooked meals verses meals that were designed by factories are paid staff. Don't get me wrong. There are times when I crave restaurant and even processed meals you can heat up in the oven but obviously it's not always the same as when someone cooks specially for me. I hope this encourages anyone reading this to cook at least one meal this year for someone who is dear to you.
Hello everyone. I am very anxious to get started writing my first Food Blog. Every since the first time I watched the movie Julie and Julia I have always wanted to start a blog on one of my many favorite hobbies which is of course food and cooking.
It was only about a year or so ago that I discovered the fascinating and complex flavors of fresh leafy greens. I have been fascinated by health and wellness every since I was in my 20s. I had the misfortune of seeing my beloved grandma and granddaddy suffer with many ailments. Our wonderful family doctor could only prescribe more and more medications, sometimes every single month. I went to my local libraries not knowing what I was looking for, but when you are emotionally hurting from seeing loved ones suffer you are desperate for answers. Luckily for me, the libraries in my small town carried books based on the best nutrition from nature's unlimited bounty. I became one of the converted almost overnight.
The problem was that vegetables never seemed to fill me up, and I was in a limited budget. But discovering Leafy Greens not only filled me up but they were delicious, plentiful, and reasonably priced. And don't get me started on the health and beauty benefits. Overnight, and I literally mean the next day my moods, energy levels and sleep patterns improved exponentially. I was addicted.
But I also have another personal reason for starting this Blog as well. I love learning new cooking methods. Creativity knows no bounds in the kitchen. I wanted to motivate myself to be a better cook, you know get out of my culinary comfort zone. I need an extra kick and encouragement from others to keep me motivated so any readers out there I actually encourage your support and ways I can improve. Here's to the start of new culinary adventures with Leafy Greens.
